AP Dome Drive for Pittman motor:  Revision E

The AP Dome Drive kit for Pittman GM9413-2 gear motor is designed to provide a means for rotating the dome on an Astromech robot (using a customer supplied Rockler bearing and RC speed controller).  The kit includes a modular drive wheel with a Servo City ¼” hub and four 5-40 socket head mounting screws.  It now utilizes an improved bracket with increased mounting area and a new pivot bearing system.

Each kit consists of a custom machined motor holder, bracket, and all necesssary hardware to mount your drive.  You must supply the Pittman GM9413-2 motor, Rockler bearing and the RC speed controller to drive the motor.  It comes standard with a modular Dome Drive Wheel Assembly but we can substitute a machined gear assembly if you plan on using it with an A&A Gear Drive.

The motor holder is suspended from the the bracket on a precision hardened steel insert and shoulder screw to assure correct alignment.  A tension spring is used to insure adequate contact pressure.

This kit is designed for the Pittman GM9413-2 gear motor.  This motor provides long use with little maintenance.  It uses a stainless steel drive shaft, metal gears, and a low cogging design for smooth operation.  It provides adequate torque with minimal current draw.  Suggested Electronic Speed Controller is the Vantec RET411.
