AP Dome Drive Kit  for Bane Bots Motor

The AP Dome Drive kit for the BaneBots MP-36064-540 gear motor is designed to provide a means for rotating the dome on an Astromech robot.  The AP Dome Drive comes standard with a modular drive wheel.  If you prefer we can provide an Aluminum Gear to interface with the A&A gear system.  It includes the new mounting bracket with increased surface area (a plus for wooden frames), and a new pivot bearing system.

Each kit consists of a custom machined motor holder, bracket, and all necesssary hardware to mount your drive.  You must supply the BaneBots motor, Rockler bearing and the RC speed controller to drive the motor.  The kit includes the modular Dome Drive Wheel Assembly with a Servo City ¼” hub adapter and four 5-40 socket head mounting screws.  Please email if you want to substitute an aluminum gear instead of the drive wheel for A&A Gear Drive.

The motor holder is suspended from the the bracket on a precision hardened steel insert and shoulder screw to assure correct alignment.  A tension spring is used to insure adequate contact pressure.

This kit is designed for the BaneBots MP-36064-540 gear motor.  This motor provides long use with little maintenance.  It uses a 0.375" diameter steel drive shaft, metal gears, and very high torque design for smooth operation on heavy domes.  It provides much higher torque than the Pittman motor but has a higher current draw.  Be sure to review the specs on this motor when choosing an ESC.  Recommended electronic speed controller is the Vantec RET411.
