Atomic Pickle is the support site for my hobbies. I am active in
R2Builders, and Johnny5_Builders. We have built a full size Astromech
Droid, R2A6, and are currently working on a full size Johnny 5
robot.
We contribute to these clubs by providing some custom part
kits for other hobbyists (members of R2Builders, R2_Autonomous and Astromech
clubs). We neither perform the machine work for these kits/parts
ourselves, nor accept outside orders for machine work. Our part is
to acquire and ship these kits/parts for other club members, and do so
within the standards of the Builders clubs i.e. we attempt to break even
on the transaction (no profit, but also no loss).
The drawings used for AP parts are the intellectual property of Fourty Two LLC. The AP drawings are
neither for sale, nor authorized for use by any other party without
express permission. We may on occasion authorize a drawing for use
by other individuals, but then, only for private use, and never for
commercial use, modification, or redistribution.
Items that are In Stock are usually shipped within 1 week of receiving
the order (I usually pack on the weekends and ship the following
Monday).
Items that are Not In Stock will take longer to ship. It can vary depending on my schedule
and how long the shop requires to build the parts, but may take as long
as 4 months. If an item is Not In Stock, I will notify anyone who
has sent funds of the expected delivery delay. If I consider the
delay to be excessive, I reserve the right to return the funds. This way I am not sitting on another
club member’s money when they could be using it for something else.
Shipping in the U.S. is done by USPS Flat Rate. I fit as much as
I can into one box and I insure for the actual cost of the items. Most of my orders can ship in the Small
Flat Rate box, but if you order multiple items they may require a medium
or large. If shipping needs to be
adjusted I will notify you by email of the actual cost.
For non-U.S. shipping I also use USPS Flat Rate, but it is a bit more
complicated (and expensive). If I can fit your parts into one box
and weight meets restrictions (seems to vary depending on destination) it
will cost about $38 for a typical dome drive shipment. This is not
insured, but I do get delivery confirmation. I will not label your item as a gift or
sample.
I use the PayPal checkout method to accept payments, and if
there is a problem with shipping or payment, or an unexpected delay, I
will first refund your payment through
PayPal (I can do that for up to 60 days without cost to either
party). Once the refund is cleared, we can work through
the issue with the shipment and get your parts out. It is my
method to insure that both the builder and I don't lose out on the
transaction. I don't like holding other club member's money if I
can't deliver the parts... I will email to explain the problem which
prompted the refund.
