J5 Track Assembly Part 01

Parts all from current Club drawings

In this tutorial we will cover the Bill of Material (BOM). We will also assemble the butterfly plates and front bearings. Only one track is shown on illustrations. There are two identical tracks required.

Clean up two of the Track Subframes for this project. Inspect and debur as needed.

Insert the bearing seal into the outside piece of a bearing cap (outside cap has unthreaded holes and and the inside cap has holes threaded 10-24).

The seal will fit nicely into the recess on the outside bearing cap. The braring caps can be attached to the butterfly plate at this point.

The seal can be seen after the bearing caps are attached to the butterfly

Attach the three butterfly spacers using ¼-20 button head screws and flat washers.

Attach other side of track unit using ¼-20 button head screws and flat washers.

The sub-frame is ready for next step in the build.
