Butterfly Plates after assembly in Part
01

Attach a ¾” heavy retaining ring to one
end of the front axle.

Insert the axle through one bearing and
about half way through the butterfly plates.

This is the inside bearing cap. We thread on a wavey washer and a
spacer. The wavy washer will be
against the bearing race when assembled.

After sliding the wavy washer and spacer
inot the recess, the spacer will extend jsust slightly beyond the inner
bearing cap.

Slide an idler wheel onto the
shaft. Clamp ring towards the
inside, but leave it loose for now.

Slide the drive sprocket onto the shaft
next. Do not forget to include the
shaft key, and it also remains loose at this time.

Add the track drive sprocket at this
point. Include the shaft key but do
not tighten.

The remaining front idler is now
added. Do not tighten.

Add a spacer and then wavy washer. They will set the gap between the idler
and the bearing cap as before.

Work the axle through the next bearing
and secure with a heavy retaining ring.
The idler wheels are tightened against
the spacer/wavy washers, then the sprockets are tightened against the shaft
keys. The motor and chain are added
later.
